About

We are a family-focused Bible Study that meets in Rockwall, Texas. We seek to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and honor His Word while growing in His grace and knowledge.

Our Goal

To fulfill the Greatest Commandments (Mk. 12:30-31; Jn. 13:34) and to walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (Col. 1:10).

Our Music

We sing mostly the hymns of the faith as we see value in the doctrine included that draws our hearts to worship.

Teaching

Our Bible Study is led and taught by Dallas Theological Seminary Graduates. The teaching varies between exegetical and topical. Topical teaching is focused on applying the Biblical worldview to life and culture.

We desire that the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified and be our central focus (Heb. 12:2).

Our Meetings

Our Beliefs

Doctrinal Statement

Scripture

The whole of Scripture (Old and New Testaments) is inspired by God and thus inerrant and must be seen as the ultimate authority in the life of every Believer (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12).

God

The God of the Bible is the Triune God of the universe (Exodus 20:3): Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3, 8; 1 John 5:7).

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the only begotten, sinless Son of God. God the Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, through the agency of His Son Jesus, created the heavens and the earth in six, twenty-four hour days. Jesus Christ is the Creator of the universe (as affirmed in John 1, Colossians 1, and Hebrews 1). The Lord Jesus Christ humbled Himself to come to earth specifically to die for the sins of the world (Romans 5:8; John 3:16). He fulfilled prophecy by being born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), living a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), and dying for the sins of all men as a substitutionary sacrifice (Isaiah 53; John 3:16). He further fulfilled prophecy by raising Himself from the dead three days after His death and burial (Matthew 16:21; John 2:19; Acts 2:22-23). Soon after His resurrection (Luke 24:5-8; 1 Corinthians 15), He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9-12) where He now acts for us as High Priest, Intercessor, and Advocate (Hebrews 7:25, 8:1-2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 John 2:1-2; 1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus is the Second Person of the Trinity (John 10:30).

Man

Man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7), but through Adam’s sin deserves physical and spiritual death (1 Corinthians 15:20-22; Romans 5:12). All human beings are born in the flesh with a sinful nature (John 3:6) and held responsible to God for their sins (Romans 3:23), but are redeemable through the amazing grace of our loving God (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Incarnation

God the Son, humbled Himself by stepping into time on this sin-filled earth (Philippians 2:6-7). He became incarnate in the person of Jesus Christ who was begotten by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35) and born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:30-34; Isaiah 7:14).

Resurrection

The Lord Jesus Christ humbled Himself to come to earth specifically to die for the sins of the world (Romans 5:8). He further fulfilled prophecy and proved His Deity by raising Himself from the dead three days after His burial (Matthew 16:21; John 2:19; Acts 2:22-23). Soon after His resurrection (Luke 24:5-8; 1 Corinthians 15), He was seen by more than 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:6), and ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9-12). There will be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust leading to the eternal blessedness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost (Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Justification By Faith

According to Scripture, whosoever by faith, apart from works of any kind, receives the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior is justified through His shed blood (1 Peter 1:18-19; Ephesians 1:7) and becomes a child of God with the blessing of eternal life (John 3:16; Romans 3:24, 5:1; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 1:13-14; Titus 3:5).

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation Through Christ

There is only one way to eternal salvation and that is not by works, or by any other god-figure, but only through Jesus Christ: Jesus saith . . . I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. – John 14:6 (See also Acts 4:12.)

Assurance

Although all born-again Believers still possess the sinful, Adamic nature, they are also indwelt by the Holy Spirit who regenerates, seals, and sets them apart to a new life. Sin affects a Believer’s fellowship with God but not their salvation. Once someone is saved, they cannot lose their salvation (“if saved, always saved”) (John 10:28-30; 1 John 5:11-13; Luke 10:20b).

Baptism

Believer’s baptism should come after salvation as an act of obedience (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-38); it is not required for salvation. Infant baptism is not Scripturally supported.

The Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper is a meal of remembrance recognizing His work of redemption on our behalf through His death and resurrection. It is a reminder for us to keep our hearts clean from sin (Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28).

Heaven & Hell

Heaven and Hell are both a reality (Matthew 5:18; John 14:1; Philippians 3:20; Revelation 20:1a; Mark 9:43-48). There will be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust leading to the eternal blessedness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

End Times

We are Pre-Millennial, Pre-Tribulation, and Dispensational.

Creation

We take the creation account in Genesis literally (Genesis 1:1), and are thus young earth creationists who believe in a global flood (the Flood of Noah’s day). We believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator (John 1:1-4; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:2,10). Believing Jesus to be the Creator further gives validity to the fact that He is also the Redeemer and Savior (Luke 2:11; 1 John 2:2; 4:10). Our Creator, the Lord Jesus, is also our Redeemer.

Marriage

We believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:18-24; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-28; Mark 10:6-9).

Israel

We believe the Church and Israel are separate and that those who bless Israel, bless the “apple of His eye” (Zachariah 2:8).
